Chapter One

Sid was squinting at his camera’s screen in the bright sunlight, trying to take a picture of the construction site in front of him. He was in a strange land, at a strange time, with thousands of laborers nearby building a gigantic white monument. He was startled by a loud thump behind him; he turned around to see an approaching elephant. He jumped out of the way in time but the camera had slipped out of his hand. He covered his eyes as the elephant lumbered past him and stepped on his camera. "Cc-rrr-u-nnn-ccc-hhh"
